2017 has been an amazing year for me. I have spent this past year learning so much about myself and the world around me. Here are a few things I learned that truly impacted my life.

  1. You are a badass and have the capability to achieve whatever it is you desire, no matter how big or small.

I took a step back this year and saw things in a new perspective. I started the year by buying myself a book. I usually read thriller and mystery books, which I still love, but this time I decided I needed to work on personal development and learn how to love myself. I bought the book The Universe Has Your Back by Gabby Bernstein. I had heard amazing things about this read and I absolutely loved this book. This was the first book I read about the law of attraction to be honest. As much as I heard about this topic, I never looked to deep into or really ever understood how it worked. If you have not read this book yet, I highly recommend it.

This was my first step into personal development. After reading her book, I started to read more and more books about how badass I truly am.

  1. Our views and relationship with money are the result of how much we make/earn.

Understanding my relationship with money was huge for me. I never even know I had any relationship with money. My perspective on money was the result of how much I made and how much was in my bank account. As soon as I understood my relationship with money, my bank completely changed.

  1. Loving yourself is the most amazing thing you can do.

Loving myself was the most amazing step I look this year. I learned how to love every inch of myself. From my acne scars, to my stretch marks, to the dark circles under my eyes, and so forth. Being grateful for who I am has truly changed my perspective on myself and others. I get to look in the mirror everyday and know I am beautiful the way I am. I am confident. I am strong. I am talented. I am beautiful. Now I dare you to repeat that every morning to yourself in the mirror.

  1. Mediation will teach you patience and open your eyes to a whole new world.

I first started meditating when I was in my last year at high school. But to be honest, I was terrified by the way it made me feel. But after reading more about and understanding its results and benefits, I was hooked. Every night before bed, I mediate for a minimum of 5-10 minutes, sometimes longer. It allows me to clear my mind and sleep without the stress of the world around us. It teaches me to be present, to let go, and to accept.

I could go on for much longer about everything I learned but here are a few more things:

Believe in yourself and you will shine.

Money is all around us, you just have to reach out and grab it.

Take deep breaths throughout your day.

Being scared is okay but don’t let it hold you back. Fear is only in the mind.

Become crystal clear on your desires and the universe will hand it to you.

Cheers to an amazing year and welcome 2018!
